    How to reset iPhone (reset iPhone)

    Preliminary operation

    Before explaining to you how to reset iPhone by providing you with all the information you need to restore your "iPhone by" to its factory state, it may be useful to know which operations to carry out before resetting the device.

    Although it is not a mandatory operation for the purpose of formatting an iPhone, before proceeding I recommend that you always perform a backup.     If you prefer to make a backup locally without going through iCloud (perhaps because you have run out of space avaelable to you and do not want to increase it for a fee), you must connect your iPhone to the computer via Lightning cable and proceed from iTunes su Windows o dal Finder of macOS.     Another operation required to restore an iPhone is to turn off Where Is, the Apple service that allows you to locate the device remotely. To do this, log back into ifttings of iOS, press on yours name e seleziona l'opzione Where is it. In the new screen that appears, tap on the item Find my iPhone and move the toggle next to the option Find my iPhone da ON a OFF. Then enter the Password of your Apple ID and select the option disable.

    After making the backup and disabling the Find My function, you are ready to reset your iPhone from the settings of the latter.

    Having made your choice, enter the unlock code of your iPhone in the appropriate field and press the button andnitialize iPhone, to restore the device to factory settings and delete all data inside it.

    In addition to the functionality to reset iPhone that I have just indicated, you should know that it is possible to choose other less "drastic" recovery options. In fact, by accessing the section Restore, you can click on the option that you think best suits your needs.

    • Reset settings: Reset all iOS settings without erasing data.
    • Reset Network ifttings: to reset the wireless network and data connection configuration.
    • Reset keyboard dictionary: to restore the keyboard settings to the factory state.
    • Reset Home Screen Layout: to reset the default icon order on the Home screen, with the apps being placed in alphabetical order.
    • Reset location and privacy: to reset the privacy and geographical location settings.

    Again, regardless of the recovery option you choose, enter the unlock code of your iPhone and press on the item that appears on the screen (eg. Dictionary restore, if you have chosen the option Reset keyboard dictionary), to confirm your intention.


    If you have opted for a hard reset of your iPhone, the device well restart automatically and be restored to the factory state. Once the formatting is complete, you can configure your phone by choosing one of the options avaelable from setup as a new iPhone, configuration via another iOS device and restore data from an iCloud backup.     If, on the other hand, you have formatted your phone to sell it, you well not have to do any configuration: let the new owner of the smartphone complete it as they prefer.

    How to reset iPhone from computer

    It was preferred reset iPhone from computer and you have a PC Windows, you have to use iTunes, the famous multimedia software developed by Apple.

    If you have not yet installed it on your computer and the latter is equipped with Windows 10, you can download iTunes from the Microsoft Store.     At this point, click on the icon phone, which appeared at the top left in iTunes, make sure the item is selected Summary in the left sidebar and click on the button Restore iPhone. Then click on the options Restore/Reset and update and click on the buttons Following and Accept, to start restoring your iPhone.

    If, on the other hand, you have a Mac with macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, click on the Finder (The smeling face) located in the bar Dock, locate the section Positions visible in the sidebar on the left and press on the item iPhone. At this point, access the section General, locate the item Software and click on the button Restore iPhone.

    Finally, I would like to point out that you can also reset your iPhone using the function Find my iPhone Apple paired with your iCloud account, as long as you have not yet disabled the option Where is it from the phone settings (as I indicated in the previous sections of this guide).
