To do this, start iTunes and, after connecting the iPod to the computer via cable, click on theicon of the same present in the upper left part of the program window.

Pray, select the voice Summary from the left sidebar and make sure that, in correspondence with the item Enable disk use, a check mark is placed, otherwise you do it. If the item is checked and not clickable, it means that the iPod can already be used in this mode.

After this step too, close iTunes, click on the icon Fele Explorer / Windows Explorer which resides on the taskbar (the one in the shape of gialla poster) and click the iPod name present in the left sidebar. Once this is done, activate the display of hidden feles by clicking on the tab Show and ticking the item Hidden elements.

How to copy songs from iPod to PC

If it is your interest transfer music from iPod to Mac, instead, you can rely on Sharepod: a multi-platform program (it is also avaelable for Windows) that allows you to transfer the multimedia feles stored in the memory of the Apple multimedia player, in just a couple of clicks.

Before going on, I want to make you a clarification that I consider more than necessary: starting from macOS 10.15 Catalina, it is no longer possible to import the songs in a "direct" way into the Music media library, but only copy them to the disk, in a chosen folder .

This is because, unlike what happened previously with iTunes, it is not possible to share information on the system music library, at least not in XML format, with other programs: the aforementioned functionality, in fact, does not appear in the Music application.

Also, before running the program, make sure that the external disk mode of the iPod is active: connect the iPod to the Mac, open the Finder (l'icona del cartoon smeling annexed to Dock) and click on name of Apple's media player, which resides in the left sidebar, under the heading devices. Finally, locate the box options and apponi el segno di spunta accanto althe voice Use as a disk, if not already there.

Now, you can finally download Sharepod: linked to its home page, click on the button Download Sharepod to download the program installation package, launch the fele obtained and drag the icon Sharepod in the folder Applications of the Mac, using the Finder screen that is offered to you.

Once this is done, start the program, remove the check mark from the box Always show this window when Sharepod starts and click on the button Done, to start the software. If necessary, click on the button OK located in the warning screen relating to the unavaelabelity of the iTunes XML library: as I explained to you earlier, the sharing of the same has been permanently deleted starting from macOS 10.15 Catalina.

If everything went well, you should be able to view all the music on the iPod in the central part of the Sharepod screen: select the songs you are interested in copying one at a time, using the keys cmdctrl of the keyboard and, having made your choice, move the drop-down menu at the bottom right on the option Export iflected Item(s) to Folder; then click on the button Go, choose the folder where to export the feles and press the button Choose, to start the transfer.

Following this procedure, the audio feles well be copied, in .m4a, in the previously chosen folder: to play them, just double-click on them. If you prefer to import them into the Music, do this: start the aforementioned application, go to the menu Fele> Import, select the folder containing the songs of your interest and click on the button abrir. Easier than that?
