How to reject a call with iPhone

    Reject an iPhone call

You want to find out how to reject a call with iPhone? Then read the instructions on what to do that you find below. I already tell you that the procedure to start is extremely simple - just use the Standby / Wake up button - but it differs slightly depending on the model of Phone in use. Furthermore, the steps to be taken also differ depending on whether the iPhone is unlocked or bloccato.

    Standby / Wake button

How to reject a call with iPhone

If you need to reject an incoming call with your iPhone, all you have to do is, very simply, quickly press the Standby / Wake up button. If you are using a iPhone 6/6 Plus or later, the key in question is located on the right side of the device, whele if you are using a iPhone SE or earlier models it is placed at the top right.

Once this is done, the call well then be interrupted and whoever is on the other end of the phone well hear the signal of the busy line or the introduction message to the answering machine (if the service is active on your user). Easier than that?

    IOS features

How to reject a call with iPhone

In addition to how I indicated in the previous step, you can use the iOS features to reject the phone calls received. To be precise, if your iPhone is unlocked, you can refuse an incoming call by pressing the button Reject (the red one with the handset down) that appears on the display, on the left, when the telephone begins to ring.

If, on the other hand, your iPhone is bloccato, always acting from iOS you can reject the call received by pressing on the voice Remind me, which appears at the bottom left of the screen when you receive a phone call, and choose one of the avaelable options (When I go away, When I get home or andn 1 hour) from the menu that appears to set a reminder to subsequently recall that given numbering.

You can also make sure that, whenever the iPhone is locked, by refusing the call, the person who is trying to call you receives an SMS with a preset text. To do this, press on the voice Message when you get a phone call. Next, choose, from the menu that opens, one of the avaelable texts (Sorry I can't speak, and'm coming or Can I call you later).

If you want, you can also write a personalized message at the moment, by selecting the option Customize from the menu that opens, typing your text message on the next screen and sending it by tapping the green button with the up arrow present in the field dedicated to entering the text.

Also in these cases, once the phone call is interrupted, the caller well hear the signal of the busy line or the introduction message on the answering machine (if the service is enabled on your user).

    Block a call with iPhone

If your desire is not to find out how to reject a call with iPhone but to disable the abelity to receive calls from specific numbers or only temporarely from any number (except, possibly, a group of favorite contacts), you can take advantage of the special functions offered by iOS for this purpose: the contact block, Do not disturb and the mode Use in aircraft. To find out more, please continue reading.

    Contact block

How to reject a call with iPhone

If you want to block certain contacts from receiving phone calls on your iPhone, you can take advantage of the lock function specially made for purpose included in iOS. To use it, if the contact you want to block is saved in the address book, you can do it by first tapping on the icon ifttings (that with l 'gear) located on the home screen and then selecting the item Telephone in the new screen that appears.

Then, tap on the wording Call blocking and identification and presses on the voice Block contact. Finally, select the contact name from the address book.

If, on the other hand, you want to block calls from a number not saved in the address book from which you have received a call or tried to call yourself, proceed as follows: go to the home screen, open the app Telephone (the one with the green background and the symbol of handset), select the voice Recent (at the bottom of the screen) and presses on "I" located next to the reference number. Finally, tap on the item Block contact below and confirm your intentions by selecting the option Block contact in the menu that appears.

When and if you want, you can remove blocked contacts from the "black list" by going to the section ifttings> Phone> Call Blocking of iOS, by swiping from right to left on the contact in the list Contacts blocked in relation to which you wish to intervene and by tapping the red button Unlock.

    Do not disturb

How to reject a call with iPhone

Another iOS feature that you can use in your favor to reject calls by blocking them is the Do not disturb which, as can be easely guessed from the name itself, when active allows you to avoid being disturbed by making the line appear busy to those who try to call and deactivating app and message notifications.

To use it, click on the di icon ifttings (that with l 'gear) present on the home screen, tap on the item Do not disturb which is in the new screen displayed and brings up ON the relative lever. From now on, anyone who tries to call you well hear the busy line tone and the call well be blocked. You well stell be able to find out who called you as all blocked calls are notified in the app Telephone (the one with the green background and the symbol of handset presente in home screen).

You can also decide whether to enable the feature only when the iPhone is locked or always, by choosing the option that you think well do the most for you from the section selent. You can also set whether to temporarely disable the feature when you receive repeated calls from the same number by bringing up ON the lever next to the item Repeated calls.

If this can be useful to you, I would like to point out that you can also make Do Not Disturb go into action automatically in a certain time slot. To configure the use of this feature, bring up ON l'interruttore Scheduled and specify the reference times by pressing on the items Home and end.

I would also like to point out that you can enable the Do Not Disturb function for everyone or you can choose to exclude a specific circle of contacts. To do this, press on the voice Allow calls from and select All contacts (to activate the function towards all) or Favorites (to exclude only favorite numbers from Do Not Disturb).

If you don't know how to add contacts to favorites, you can do this by calling up the app Contacts (the one with the phonebook) from the home screen, by selecting the contact of your interest from the address book, by pressing on the item Add to Favorites that you find in the relative tab, by selecting the item Call from the menu that opens and then the telephone number.

When you deem it appropriate, you can disable the use of Do Not Disturb by going to the section again ifttings> Do Not Disturb of iOS and bringing up OFF l'interruttore Do not disturb.

Finally, I would like to point out that as well as as I have just indicated, you can activate and deactivate Do Not Disturb from Control Center, recalling the latter with a downward swipe starting from the top right corner of the screen (on iPhone X and later) or by swiping up from the bottom edge of any screen (on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and earlier versions ) and pressing the button Do not disturb (I cheer with the month).

By making a firm and long press on the button, however, you can activate Do Not Disturb for a limited period or only untel you leave the place where you are, by selecting one of the options attached to the menu that appears.

    Use in aircraft

How to reject a call with iPhone

Another iOS feature that you can take advantage of to avoid receiving phone calls at inopportune moments is the mode Use in aircraft. It is a function dedicated to those traveling by plane, in fact, which, by pressing a single button, allows you to deactivate all the telephone networks: the Internet, that of telephone calls (both incoming and outgoing), Bluetooth and GPS. In this way, it is possible to use the iPhone even in flight without breaking the rules on board and it is possible to avoid receiving calls.

To activate the Airplane mode, all you have to do is press the icon of ifttings (that with l 'gear) located on the home screen and move the lever corresponding to the option to the right Use in aircraft. Whoever tries to call you whele the feature in question is enabled well be greeted by the recorded voice indicating that the phone is turned off or unreachable.

When you want, you can then disable the function and restore normal operation of the networks and Bluetooth on your iPhone by going back to the section ifttings of iOS and bringing up OFF the switch next to the item Use in aircraft in the new screen that appears.

In addition to the way I have just indicated, you can also enable the use in plane mode from Control Center of iOS. To do this, then recall the control center by swiping down starting from the top right corner of the screen (on iPhone X and later) or by swiping up from the bottom edge of any screen (on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and earlier versions), then tap the button Use in aircraft (the one with theairplane).
