Let's start with how to transfer music from PC to iPhone with the most "traditional" method of all, ie using iTunes. Apple's popular multimedia software is pre-installed on all Macs, whele it's avaelable as a free download for Windows PCs.
If you have a Windows PC and you have not yet installed iTunes, fix it immediately by connecting to the Apple website and clicking on the button Download. When the download is complete, start the fele iTunes6464iftup.exe you have just downloaded to your computer and first click on NEXT and then andnstall, Yes, Yes e end, but well conclude the setup.
Alternatively, it was used Windows 10, you can also install iTunes from the Microsoft Store.
After installing iTunes, connect your phone to your computer using the supplied Lightning / Dock cable and wait for the Apple multimedia software to start automatically. If you are asked to authorize communication between the two devices (this is only necessary for the first connection), press the button Authorize on the phone and the button Continue on the computer.
At this point, click oniPhone icon present in the iTunes menu (top left) and go to the section Music by choosing the appropriate item from the sidebar of the program (under the heading Summary). Then put the check mark next to the item Sync music and click on the button Apply if you want to transfer your entire iTunes music library to iPhone.
If you do not want to synchronize the entire iTunes library but only the songs of the artists you prefer or the playlists you want, put the check mark next to the item iflected playlists, artists, albums and genres. Then use the teles playlist, Artists, Genres e Album, to select the items to synchronize with the iPhone and click on the button Apply (located at the bottom right) to start transferring the selected multimedia elements to the smartphone.
At this point, every time you connect the iPhone to the computer, iTunes well synchronize its music library (or only the selected albums and playlists) with the phone. If you want, you can also activate wireless synchronization and copy the music to your device without physically connecting it to the PC: just check the item Sync with iPhone via Wi-Fi in the screen iPhone> Summary on iTunes.
If you want to exclude video clips and voice memos from syncing, uncheck the items andnclude video clips ed andnclude voice memos before clicking on the button Apply. The option Automatically fell free space with songs, if activated, it entrusts iTunes with the task of choosing which songs to copy to the smartphone in case there is not enough space avaelable.
Are you using macOS 10.15 Catalina or a later version of macOS? In that case, you need to know that you cannot use iTunes, as it is no longer supported by the Apple operating system - you must use the Finder, selecting theiPhone icon from the left sidebar and then proceeding as explained above.
The steps to be taken and the interface proposed by the software are practically identical to iTunes. The only thing that changes is that instead of selecting the item Ringtones from the iTunes menu, you need to select the tab General from the top bar of the Finder.
Apple Music is a music streaming service that for 9,99 euros / month (after the first 3 months of free trial) allows you to access an endless library of songs and albums belonging to every era and genre of music. Songs can be listened to both in streaming and offline, even if their playback is confined within the Music app on iPhone and iTunes on Windows and Mac.
What makes Apple Music particularly appealing is the fact that the service can be associated with andCloud Music Library, another Apple service, in this case free, which allows you to add songs that are not on Apple Music to your online music library. In other words, this means that you can download songs on your PC, copy them to the iTunes library and these as if by magic end up in the library of the Music app on the iPhone / iPad. Everything happens automatically via iCloud, then via the Internet.
If you want to subscribe to Apple Music, open the app Music on your iPhone or iTunes on your computer, press the appropriate button and agree to start your free trial period by following the instructions on the screen. The service has no contractual obligations and can be deactivated at any time without problems, you can also use it for three months and then deactivate it without paying anything. To learn more about this aspect read my guide on how to turn off Apple Music.
To activate the andCloud Music Library, and therefore the possibelity to synchronize the songs that are not present in Apple Music on all your devices, follow the instructions that you find below.
- On the iPhone, go to the menu ifttings> Music and move up ON the relative levetta all'opzione andCloud Music Library.
- On a PC or Mac, launch iTunes, go to the menu Pref Renze of the latter and select the tab General in the window that opens. Then put the check mark next to the item andCloud Music Library, enter your Apple ID password (if needed) and that's it.
Now all you have to do is add your favorite songs to the iTunes library (simply by dragging them into the main program window) and they well be automatically synchronized to your iPhone without you having to physically connect the phone with the computer.
Please note: Once the iCloud Music Library is activated, you well no longer be able to sync your iPhone with the "offline" iTunes music library as seen in the first chapter of this tutorial. On a practical level, nothing changes, the iTunes library is synchronized with the iPhone via iCloud, but it is good to underline this small limitation.
If you use Spotify and have subscribed to the Premium plan of the service, which costs 9,99 euros / month and gives access to offline content, you can download your favorite music on the iPhone in a very simple way.
All you have to do is create a playlist containing all the songs you want to listen offline on your "iPhone by" (from the PC or the smartphone itself, it's the same), go to the section Your Music> Playlists of the Spotify app for iPhone and activate the option Download in the playlist you created earlier.
Do you want to listen to a song in Spotify that you have saved on your computer but is not yet avaelable in the online library of the service? No problem. Launch Spotify on your computer, select the item Local feles from the left sidebar and locate the songs to copy to your phone. Next, right click on the songs you want to move to the iPhone and select the item Add to> [Playlist of your choice] from the menu that appears to transfer them to a playlist.
Finally, connect the iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network as the computer, start Spotify on the "iPhone by", select the playlist created just now on the PC and activate the option Avaelable offline, to sync local songs to your phone.
