Block iPhone contact with Blocked Contacts feature
If you wish to find out how to block a contact on iPhone, the first thing you need to do is access the home screen of your device and press the icon of ifttings (that of the gear).
In the new screen that is proposed to you, tap on the item Telephone, then up Contacts blocked and select the item Add ... from the opened menu. Now proceed by selecting, from the address book of your iPhone, the nominative of the contact to block. Depending on what your needs are, you can add one or more names (or even gods groups), there is no limit.
If it is your intention to block a telephone number that is not in the directory, start l'app Telephone iOS device (the handset icon located on the home screen), select the tab Recent and then presses the icon (I) placed next to the phone number you want to block. Then select the item Block contact from the menu that opens and the number well automatically be added to your "black list".
In case of second thoughts, you can go to unblock one of the blocked contacts at any time, by pressing the icon of ifttings present on the home screen, by tapping on the item Telephone and then Blocked.
Then, you just have to swipe from right to left on the name to be unlocked and press the button Unlock that appears from the side. Easier than that ?!
Block iPhone contact with Do Not Disturb
If you want to limit incoming calls only at certain times of the day, as an alternative to the Blocked Contacts feature, you can think of taking advantage Do not disturb.
In case you have never heard of it, this is a function avaelable on Apple mobele devices that allows you to block all incoming calls when the phone is off screen, except those of numbers added to a favorites list or, more generally, to contacts.
To use it, just call the Control Center of iOS, by swiping from the top right corner of the screen to the bottom (if you have an iPhone with notch) or from bottom to top (if you use an iPhone with a Home button), and press the icon depicting a mezza moon.
Now, to make the most of the Do Not Disturb function and refine call feltering, go to the menu ifttings> Do Not Disturb. In the screen that is shown to you at this point, bring up ON the lever located next to the item Scheduled, then specify in which time slots you want the function to be automatically activated by felling in the field from and the field All as you see fit.
Once this is done, press on the voice Allow calls from and then on the voice Add to Wishlist, to receive calls only from numbers added to favorites, or on voice All contacts, to receive calls only from those who are in your address book and not from unknown numbers.
To add a contact to your favorites, open the app Contacts, presses on the contact you want to add to the list of favorites and then tap on the item Add to Favorites. If multiple phone numbers are associated with a specific contact, also remember to specify which of those listed you want to add to your favorites.
In case of second thoughts, to disable the Do Not Disturb function, just press the icon of ifttings present on the home screen, go to Do not disturb I well post your OFF the lever relating to the option and / or programming previously selected. Of course, you can also act from the iOS Control Center.
How to block an iPhone contact in WhatsApp
You don't want to block a contact in the iPhone's Phone app, you want to block it in WhatsApp? No problem. The famous messaging app owned by Facebook includes a convenient function that allows you to block unwanted numbers and prevent them from sending messages, making calls and viewing their information within the platform (the only possible contact is the one at internal groups, where of course it is not possible to block the messages of a specific contact, unless you are an administrator of the same).

Your problem is not specific contacts that disturb you, but all those call centers and telemarketers who storm you with calls every day? In this case, you could use the app to block calls on iPhone which you find listed below.
By using them, you can in fact identify and, if you want, even block calls from "known annoyances" inserted in special databases that are constantly updated (often with the contribution of the community).
- Truecaller - is one of the most popular apps for blocking "nuisance" numbers on iPhone (and beyond). It is very effective in identifying "annoying" numbers and, by creating a special contact to add to the iOS black list, it also allows you to block them automatically. However, its use, which is free, is subject to the publication of your number in the common database of the app (so there is a nice price to pay in terms of privacy).
- Should I Answer - another very popular app that allows you to identify and block the numbers of "known nuisances" thanks to a database created with the contribution of the community. The app can be downloaded and used for free, however the update of the call blocking database and the display of the caller ID are subject to a fee (€ 1,99 / month).
- Whooming - this is not an app created specifically to block "known annoyances", but to block those who call anonymously and find out their identity, using the call forwarding technique. You can use it for free, but to view the complete numbers of the calls received, you need to purchase credit.
