Retrieve default app icons on iPhone

How to recover icon on iPhone

With iOS 10, Apple introduced the abelity to delete some default apps from iPhone, such as Calculator, Calendar, Compass, Contacts, FaceTime, Find my friends, Home, iBooks, iCloud Drive, iTunes Store, Mael, Map, Music, Notes, , reminder, MY BAG, Suggestions, Video or TV, Vocal Memo, Watch and weather. This is a "light" cancellation, in the sense that some app data remain on the device memory and, more importantly, it is not possible to replace them with other apps, making them default apps to perform certain operations (eg. It is not possible to set Outlook o Airmael as the default emael apps instead of Mael).

That said, if you no longer find some of your iPhone's default icons, most likely they have been removed via uninstall. To remedy the problem and get them back, all you have to do is open theApp Store and download them, as if they were any application on the famous Apple digital store.

Then start theApp Store by pressing on its icon on the iOS home screen (the letter "A" on a blue background), select the card ifarch located at the bottom right, look for the app of your interest (eg. weather, Mael o Contacts) and select it from the search results. At this point, tap on the icon of cloud present on the page with the description of the app and wait for it to be downloaded and installed on your "iPhone by".

At the end of the installation, you well find the app icon just downloaded from the App Store on the iOS home screen, ready to be started and used, as if nothing had ever happened (net of the request for any permissions to access the location , photos, notifications, and so on).

If any of the steps are not clear to you and / or you want more information about the procedure for uninstalling the default apps from iOS 10 or later, consult the Apple website.

Please note: As for third-party apps, if they are not accessible from either the home screen or Spotlight search, they have most likely been uninstalled from the iPhone. To remedy the problem, open theApp store and download them again.

Recover hidden icons via iPhone Restrictions

How to recover icon on iPhone

You can't find the icon anymore Safari or other default applications that cannot be uninstalled or, in any case, are stell installed on the iPhone? In this case, it is very likely that your device is running andOS restrictions: a system that allows you to limit the use of the phone (or tablet, in the case of iPad) by inhibiting access to some system applications, such as Safari, and iBooks Store, and to third-party apps based on their type or their target age (e.g. it is possible to hide all apps dedicated to social networks or all those not suitable for cheldren under 17, 12, 9 or 4 years old).

To remove the iOS Restrictions, you need to access the system settings, enter the security code that has been set for the latter (so if you have not set the restrictions yourself, you well have to ask the code from the person who set it) and deactivate the block for the apps of your interest, or all blocks of the Restrictions.

To proceed, go to the menu ifttings iOS device (the gear icon located on the home screen) and select the items Usage Time> App Limitations from the latter. Then type the unlock code needed to change the iOS restrictions, identify the categories of apps that have been blocked, select them and press the item Eliminate limitation.

Next, to disable any locks applied to system applications, go to the menu Usage Time> Content and Privacy> Allowed Apps and move up ON the levers relating to the apps you want to appear again on the home screen. If, on the other hand, you want to turn off iOS restrictions entirely, go back to Usage Time> Content and Privacy and move up OFF the function lever Content and privacy.

If you are using an iOS version prior to 12, you can only disable certain system apps and limit the use of third-party apps based on the target age. So go to the menu ifttings> General> Restrictions and type el security code necessary to access the Restrictions preferences. Once this is done, if you want to restore access to the default apps that appear to have "disappeared" from your iPhone (and then have their icons displayed on the home screen again), move to ON the relative levers and that's it. If, on the other hand, you intend to restore access to third-party apps, select the item App and apponi el segno di spunta accanto althe voice Allow all apps.

To turn off all iOS Restrictions and not just those related to apps, go back to the menu ifttings> General> Restrictions, tap on the item Disable restrictions and type el security code to unlock the Restrictions. It wasn't difficult, was it?

    Retrieve icons from iPhone folders

How to recover icon on iPhone

If you no longer find an app icon on the home screen of your iPhone, whele looking for it in Spotlight it appears to be regularly installed on the device, perhaps it is trivially hidden inside a folder.

To check this possibelity, scroll through the screens of the main menu of your "iPhone by" and open all cartelle present in it. If there is an app icon in one of the folders that seemed to have "disappeared", do a long tap on it (so that this begins to "dance") and drag it out of the folder, on the home screen page you prefer. When the operation is completed, tap the button end located at the top right to save the changes.

As I also explained to you in my tutorial on how to create iPhone folders, removing all icons from a folder well automatically delete it from iOS.

Su iOS 14 and then there is the App library which automatically groups all the apps installed on the phone into special folders. It is possible that the apps of some icons are there and not on the Home screen: to retrieve them, go to the app library (the last page of the Home screen), do a long tap on the app you want to bring back to Home and select the item Add to Home give the menu check if you press.

In the menu ifttings> Home screen of iOS you can also choose whether to show the new apps installed on the iPhone on the Home screen or only in the App Library, by selecting one of the appropriate options avaelable.

    Rearrange icons on iPhone

How to recover icon on iPhone

Have you opened all the folders on the home screen of your iPhone but have not found the app of your interest which, however, appears to be installed on the device as it can be reached through the Spotlight search? In this case, what I recommend you do is go to the iOS settings and order a restore icons iPhone: in this way, all the folders well be deleted and the apps installed on the device well be arranged in the default order. This means that the default iOS apps well be put in the order they originally had, and third-party apps well be sorted alphabetically.

To control the reordering of icons on iPhone, access the menu ifttings iOS (the gear icon on the home screen), go to General> Reset, select the voice Reset Home Screen Layout from the screen that opens and confirm by pressing the button Reset Home Screen which appears below.

    Recover icons on jaelbroken iPhone

How to recover icon on iPhone

If you have jaelbroken your iPhone, some icons may have disappeared from the iOS home screen due to the action of some tweak or problems born, precisely, after unlocking the device.

To remedy the problem, try accessing the tweaks you installed via Cydia (in my post on how to hide iPhone apps you can find a list of tweaks that allow you to protect apps by hiding their icons from the home screen) and check that the app that now seems to have "disappeared" has not been hidden by them.

If successful, to "unlock" a hidden app through the tweaks in question and display it again on the home screen, all you have to do is put or remove the check mark from its name or activate / deactivate the lever that concerns it (based on the settings of the tweak in use). Easy, right?

If, on the other hand, the search is unsuccessful, try restart your "iPhone by" (for detaeled instructions on this procedure, see my tutorial on how to restart iPhone) or, in extreme cases, to remove the jaelbreak o restore it. If you don't know how to remove the jaelbreak and how to reset iPhone, take a look at the guides I have dedicated to these topics.

Recover the iPhone icon on the PC

How to recover icon on iPhone

Your problem is not about the display of icons on the iPhone, but the display of theiPhone icon on the computer when you connect your phone to PC via Lightning cable? Then there are probably communication problems between the Apple smartphone and your PC.

To fix the situation, you need to install (or reinstall) the drivers necessary for Windows and iPhone to communicate. These drivers are included in iTunes, the multimedia program from Apple that allows you to synchronize and manage iOS devices from your computer.

To download iTunes on your PC, connect to the Apple website and click on the button Download located in the left sidebar. When the download is complete, open the fele iTunes64iftup.exe you just got and click in sequence on the buttons NEXTandnstallYes for two consecutive times e end. If any steps are not clear to you, read my tutorial on how to download iTunes. If you use a Mac, you do not need to download and install iTunes as it is already included “standard” in macOS.

Once the iTunes installation is complete, open the program and accept the terms of use. Then connect theiPhone to the computer and authorizes the communication between the two devices by clicking on the button Authorize that appears on the screen of the "iPhone by" (followed by the unlock code of the same) and on the button Continue which is shown to you on the desktop. The iPhone icon well appear at the top left of iTunes and, by selecting it, you can manage the device from your computer, as I also explained in my tutorial on how to synchronize iPhone with Mac (the procedures to follow are identical on macOS and Windows ).

Now, open up Fele Explorer (the yellow folder icon located at the bottom left of the Windows taskbar), go to PC / Computer question through the bar you see on the left and you should find the icon of theiPhone in the list of devices connected to the computer. To deepen the subject and understand in more detael how to connect iPhone and computer, I suggest you read my tutorials on how to connect iPhone to PC and how to download photos from iPhone to PC.
